So, one of my buddies and I got into a discussion the other day about the political climate, the constitution, firearms, etc. He lives in Oregon and was at a gun show trying to sell and trade a couple of firearms. Anything you sell in a gun show in Oregon has to go through a background check and they were all discussing the current state of affairs regarding "gun violence" (it ain't the guns stupid) and what some political leaders would basically like to do.
So, lets just say, that the country elected a leader who was a socialist or someone who could care less about the constitution and the supreme court was hugely liberal and sided with this elected leader. The right to bear arms was tossed out and it was decided that one could only possess a couple of "hunting specific" firearms and that anything else that you had was deemed unlawful and you had to turn them into the government after a certain period of time or you would be in violation of the law.
SO? What would you REALLY do? Not what you would want to do but what would you really do if this happened?

I don't think any of the founding fathers were fond of tyranny. Nor am I. I would rather die fighting for what I believe in than to live a coward.

With that being said they will just keep taking a fraction of a fraction of our rights at a time. It won't be one thing that will trigger everyone at once. You will get a handful of people that will stand up when one law affects them. The media will label them as extremists, crazies.... Until we come together as a group and say enough is enough we will continue to lose these fractions until they add up to a whole.

Circumstances would play a huge role. I don't know-it's not likely to be blue helmeted para troopers, it will be your friends and neighbors, it may be a kid you took hunting, and taught to shoot.

That is exactly why I posed this scenario as one might want to ponder it now. I will never give up my firearms nor do I realistically think that I could hold off whomever makes the decision to come and get them. I have several locations that I would cache them. In any case, it is a scary thought and hopefully it will never happen but man, listening to some of these liberals..........................

Just because the election went the way most of us want, the chance of this type of attack on our weapons is STILL very real. As of this week, we have the runaway courts able to shut down the Administrative branch off the government. The courts will continue to play a huge part in our lives and we should watch and FEAR them.

I do not believe this scenario is realistic. But, I'll play the game.......

NO way I'd comply with a confiscation order. Guns would be packed in grease and buried deep until the policy was changed or militias were organized.

What if I told you that as a Soldier I have been witness to citizens' weapons being confiscated , and on our own soil...

This conversation has come up with most Soldiers I know and it has always been unanimous; my job is to defend the Constitution of the United States, not some bastardized version some politicians think it should be. I do not have to follow an unlawful order, that would actually be a crime.

Out of my dead hands , thought long and hard about it, I've discussed with my wife, yes I would not relinquish my 2nd Amendment rights, especially at my home for 30 years, I'm 60yrs old, I've had a great life, I've been through hell and heaven, I have no children, 1st wife was killed, My wife today has knowm me for 35yrs and knows I'M as bullheaded and righteous to be fault; my family is gone,my friends ppl I've respected ,we're family all passed away, last of the old generation, which had a lot to share and actually could communicate with a ability to vest parts of their soul sharing and being true friends, neighbours real kinship. My peer group today is broken, I am to.I have a couple of shooting buddies tho we do not talk much about anything else but shooting. If the day came, I would not fire back at a swat team or sheriff department but I would not relinquish my weapons, I would defend in movement only, But I would, will die Free, No I'm not being melodramatic, just my choice,
As the years pass, my demise; by my Government is inching closer to a reality, I'll adhere to USA Constitution until our politicians and courts perverted it into oblivion.
I do believe a lot of LEA would not participate, tho I'm in know delusions as their will be plenty who would put me down as a good shooting, believing their orders were just, Pray for those who will have to make those choices, That's my answer as a citizen. I do come from a long line OF LEA , and received my degree in Law Enforcement " Administration of Justice" lol, it's becoming a joke ,as our own county picks which laws are to be upheld, Good luck to those in modern day Law Enforcement, as the lines of justice has been obscured.
Sorry for being long winded , it's a complex choice, in my world it's an easy choice ,you have to stand for something besides a lattie and taxes.

So just to throw out a hypothetical response...

The Gubment decides that we have a firm "turn in date" for our firearms. The date now passed and the Gubment knows (BATF data base) who STILL has firearms that they are no longer permitted. Warrants are issued (this will take years to complete even with the hiring of 50,000 new Gubment employees). FINALLY, the Gubment will go to the states and the states to the local Gubments and require same to execute said warrants. Here is what WILL happen 99.9% of the time as a result:

Chief of Police: "Captains, shift commanders, Sergeants; get your troops out there and execute these warrants in compliance with the mother Gubments demands and wishes. Seize these weapons and arrest these violators."

Capt/shift commanders/Sergeants: "Sir, Yes Sir."

Capt/shift commander/Sergeants to troops: "Ladies and gentlemen, for the greater good of our nation, get out there and execute these warrants - seize these weapons, and arrest these violators. Our country is no place for lawful gun ownership anymore (winking with a smile)."

Troops to Capt/shift commander/Sergeant at the end of tour of duty: "Gee boss, we tried like hell but we couldn't seem to locate ANY guns or violators. We'll try harder tomorrow."

You see, the people charged with depriving our people of their rights are also people subject to having their rights violated and knowing so, will not participate in such shenanigans.

Personally, If an employee of mine tried to participate in this sort of program, he would find himself in dire need...of oxygen. I AM NOT ALONE - we may keep quiet to keep ourselves from being "picked off", but when the wolves are at the door, there are helping hands that will come out of the woodwork from the "inside" and handicap any attempt to do such a thing.

Alas, it is the responsibility of each and every one of use to fight tooth and nail, daily if need be to interrupt the fraction of a fraction of a fraction theft of our rights - even those fractions that don't immediately or directly impact us. I call politicians from all over the country on a regular basis in accordance with requests from fellow lawful owners who need action taken to stop the wolf at their door. It costs me nearly nothing to support my fellow armed citizen - and even if it had a price, I for one would pay it. We stand united or we are on our backs - no middle ground here, NONE.

Depending on which figures you choose to believe, a conservative estimate is that there are over 100 million firearms and over 1 trillion rounds of ammo owned by lawful citizens of the USA...........It would be quite an undertaking given very few would part with their guns willingly. I would not want to be one of the people charged with the confiscating. My guess is that the grand plan of the culprits is a very gradual erosion of the Second Amendment. We need to be very vigilant on this front.

Im 37. Grew up a rural small town kid. Highschool sweetheart parents who still are in love. My Grandmother who held bible studies in her kitchen with my brother, sister an I. My father is a workaholic, self taught anything, and loves his counrty. I was lucky and now understnd that. Firearms were something to respect and earn the trust to use. My promise to fellow gun owners is to be the best husband, father, uncle, electrician... I can be. The more a country fails its morals as a whole the more grip on society its government uses laws or brute force to maintain order. Our country I like to believe is still a government of the people. We still vote, have rights to a jury for fair trial, a military that now survives by patriotic volunteers. I believe our flag stands out more to the rest of the world for freedom than "we" all take for granted. Loosing our 2nd Amendment rights, IMO, will come from each generation loosing a true love for country an a basic moral creed of simply treating others as you would want to be treated. We the people need to hold our elected officials to the same ideals. We need to maintain our own reputations as responsible gun owners if we are to be taken seriously when all these idiots use guns for violence. Lets all take part in passing on what the 2nd Amendment gives us.

Thanks. But after sleeping on it. I should add, my father also insisted I read the book by j.rawles "Patriot", get out of debt, be prepared and stay tuned into current events. I think if our government fails it will probly feel the need to gather guns and use marshal law during a black sky event. Seems when a SHTF sinerio happens the publics moral system is proportional to food an energy supplys. Maybe stock up this black friday on a few more bricks of 22.

Pray for families of the Texas shooting. Another idiot with a gun. Shooting up the church his exwife goes to. Man this stuff needs to stop. You would think with this guys history the people in his life could have seen or sensed he needed help. Definitly the old saying, "See somthing, say something." Comes to mind...

Keep reminding your friends that might lean towards disarming as many of us as possible and particularly of the dreaded "assault weapons" and "high capacity handguns" that it was a middle aged man with an AR that was able to bring his killing spree to an end saving the lives of everyone who survived.

It was that same middled aged man with an AR and a redneck in a pickup with a shotgun who ran him to ground and made sure his killing spree could never resume at another location.

Better to live standing on your feet than die on your knees.

In our case the local Sheriff (in Colorado) refuses to enforce a magazine ban on the "Good Guys" and he says he will resist any move on the 2nd Amendment even though he knows that would probably mean his end. So in our case it is simple and there will be a whole lot of us showing up, Blue as well, so my advise would be 'send someone you don't like.'

By the way the Government gave up on Moonshine!

As for posting this on the Internet and making my self a target for any Anti's...

I am unafraid.

I differ in one area. The Government did not give us our gun rights. I was born with them. Called self defense for starters. If you agree the govt gave you the rights, how can you say they can't take them away? If someone with bad intentions comes for me, I will not be there but on the hunt as well. Make sure you are paid a LOT of money, and kiss your family as you begin your day.
