Should I use the Alex Wheeler reamer on this before the hunt or after?
I was hoping it wouldn’t affect the load. It made yours even better? Right on. I guess I shouldn’t be worried. I need to re-zero anyway. If you are using brass 1X firings, or maybe 2X you sure could wait. But for what it's worth, I think my CA 6.5 PRC actually shot the same load better after I reamed the chamber.
Of course you will need to recheck zero and such.

Late August to September I hope. He lives in Northern UT, I'm down at the bottom.Ladd: That's a sweet rifle set up! Your son is lucky to have a dad like you. Not all dads hand there kids a rifle like that. You and your son will have some great memories. Hey when we gonna see picks of your son banging steel with that rifle getting ready for his hunt??? That hunt will be here before you know it.

How much work was it for your Smith to install that box? A buddy of mine has a 6.5 PRC CA ELR that could really use this upgrade.Today was also the first time I tested feeding from the Wyatts 3.10" Baney box I had installed in this rifle. I had two down and one in the chamber and feed each of the two cycling from the box. It was smooth and didn't hang up or jam. The Wyatts Baney Box was a good upgrade to this rifle especially with the long loads I have with the 156 gr Berger EOL. I would recommend this box.
I have 580 rounds through this rifle to date.
It didn’t cost much but I’m sure it had to go in a mill to open the bottom of the action. This is what Kevin describes on his website. How much work was it for your Smith to install that box? A buddy of mine has a 6.5 PRC CA ELR that could really use this upgrade.
It’s the same twist as the original, just longer. I’ve shot it from 2900 to 6000 ft and the original barrel has done well. I haven’t even put the new barrel on to try but I think I will this winter.Hi Ladd, great information here!
I am using this thread as a platform for a future build. That said, is your replacement barrel still 8 twist like the original Ridgeline barrel or did you go faster twist?
If it's the 8 twist, how any stabilization issues with the 156 at the atmos conditions you're shooting?
Thanks!
