OK, I'm officially changing the thread. This thing is shooting way to good to ignore.
With BAKPAKR posting the Mountain Goat pics with his Contender in 30-30, I have to start posting the results of this incredible shooting pistol for those that may be interested.
For those new to this subject, you'll have to look at the old thread of the 7TCU.
I finished fire-forming the Federal brass and had to try some test loads. Since I had three rifles I needed to sight in, I took the 6TCU along with three test loads and H4895 with 87gr V-Max's.
All three shot fine with the best putting the three shots in .430" but it was also the slowest.
I was hoping for close to 2600fps out of the 12" barrel but this load only averaged 2452. The top load printed just under an inch but I noticed that I was having a hard time seeing the 1" red dots.
I switched to 1" white squares a couple days later for the next two loads and this happened.
The first three went into .673" with the first two in .254" and the last one shot this .411" with the first two in .206", at 2551fps.
No pressures. No BS!
100yds with a pistol off a portable bench in a cow pasture.
Wonder if I can up that speed just a hair?
Stay tuned!

Great shooting! I haven’t shot groups quite that good with my 30-30 but it is still way more accurate than I ever imagined it would be. BTW - due to low velocity in the 10” barrel, I switched from 125 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips (what I used on the goat) to 125 gr Hornady TNTs. The TNTs work great on deer at low velocity. I don’t recall my exact muzzle velocity but I am thinking it was between 2150 and 2200 fps.

Do you have anything you can hunt with your 6mm TCU this fall?

Just spoke with the grandson of the friend of mine that passed away a couple months ago and got permission to take a Whitetail doe off the property where I've been watching the cattle on and taking care of the cattle dogs.
I'm going to push this a little harder just to see if I can get the speed up a tad without blowing up the groups.
In reality, I'd settle for a solid 3/4" average if I could get the velocity up over 2600fps with no pressures.
I always shot a 10" 30 Herrett and never shot a 10" 30-30. I had a 14" and shot it for a while but my Osteoarthritis has gotten so bad in my hands I had to pick something that wouldn't send me to the pain pill bottle every time I got done.
I've taken a lot more game of all sizes with XP-100's than with the T/C's.
I'll be posting a bunch of stuff in the "Predators and Varmints" section shortly!

Bumped the H4895 to 27.40 and 27.60.
27.40 shot three in .893 with 2&3 in .422 @ 2561fps. That first cold bore shot was out.
Then 27.60 shot this one. 1&2 are in .081" with the third at .320"!
Velocity went up to 2593fps but I didn't like the pressures.
I'll drop back to the 27.40, load ten and shoot them at 200yds and see how consistent they are and how well they print!
