Looking for your experience shooting these primers. My experience with Remington primers is little and mostly with pistol and not within the last decade.

I’ve got a brick of them sitting around and can buy 5k more in stock.

I shoot federal 205m and have shot for years without issues. I have converted all of the creedmoors (all varieties) and other .264s into SRP and use the CCI 450s in some of them as well especially when cold. I’ve also used the BR4s quite a bit but I try to stick to those three but have stocked up on a ton of 450s.

It seems large rifle primers are definitely harder to land and I’m not opposed to stocking up.

It seems like there is a lot of talk about most primers being pretty consistent but I don’t want to buy if they’re not as reliable as others. Thanks

I stick to Federal GMs and CCIs but that’s me. And for no reason other than I have had great success with them.

Remington 7 1/2 primers are top notch. I’ve loaded thousands of rounds with them.

Once upon a time, Rem 7-1/2's were the go-to primer for NRA Service Rifle with AR15s in .223 Rem, mainly due to (supposedly) having a harder cup that could withstand warmer loads and/or the abuse of having a bit of slop between the firing pin and firing pin hole that would otherwise crater or blank primers. With the advent of SRP brass for .308 Win and later 6.5CM, they work pretty fair there as well.

I have loaded, and have thousands of rem 7 1/2's. They're generally regarded as the hottest magnum small rifle primers. I use them in my srp 6.5 Creed, 223, 300blk, 450bm, 350legend, 6.5 grendel. Never an issue.

Thanks Ladd. I’ve been the same way but only shoot freely when I have a certain amount of surplus and I’ve been teetering on that this last year or so.

Thanks everybody. I didn’t get any notification of responses so I apologize for my slowed response.

I’m thinking my ultimate position is that beggars can’t be choosers. I don’t mean to say that these aren’t top tier only that I’m used to different primers. And in order to keep my same shooting routines I’m willing to try something new.

I’ll buy a brick and see how it goes.

Thanks for the help from everybody! I appreciate it.
