I've decided to go down yet another rabbit hole, this one is labeled "PRS ($$$$)", so I'm selling a couple of my CA Mesa LR rifles and other stuff to partially offset the cost of the new gear.

I've got a "good enough" scope to get started (Vortex Razor HD Gen I) but eventually I'd like to get a Nightforce NX8 4-32x50 F1 with the Horus TReMoR3 reticle for two reasons:

1) NF: Rugged; reliable; repeatable
2) Tremor 3: speed! (Needed for PRS-style shooting.) And when I do need precision (and time allows), I can always dial the turret(s). (I accept the facts that it's "busy" and will take some time to learn how to properly utilize its capabilities.)

So for those of you with firsthand PRS experience, I'd like to know your thoughts, please.

Personally I have (4) NX8's. I do like the scopes. For PRS shooting, you will want a forgiving scope. The eye box, and parallax is a bit touchy on the NX8 erector tube due to how much magnification it has. This is not an issue for hunting or target shooting. PRS is a game of speed and being able to get on target quickly. I would got ATACR 5-25 for PRS.

I have not shot the Termor scope but have used it. I couldn't use it was like you said busy. I couldn't focus and when I tried to play with the reticle and do wind holds etc. I couldn't it was to much. To each there own im coming from a vortex ebb-7c so the tremor adds alot.

I have used that scope for PRS. With practice, the Tremor 3 reticle was quite effective for fast wind management. I do think it’s a busy reticle that can effect spotting hits(at least with my 70 year old eyes). I found that the 32x high end magnification is overkill, rarely using much more then 20x for PRS. The Nightforce F1 ATACR glass is more then sufficient for PRS work, and the turrets/reliability…superb. IMO.
