Way back, like last century, a smith showed me how to check bolt lug contact, basically the sharpie method. I've been using it since. Yesterday, my smith told me that my lugs were only contacting on two out of three. I tried to get pics, but these were the best I could get. I think they are all good, how about some opinions, please? **EDIT** took out "professional"IMG_2021.jpgIMG_2022.jpgIMG_2023.jpgIMG_2021.jpgIMG_2022.jpgIMG_2023.jpg

Looks like even contact for most of each lug. I wouldn’t be concerned, I’ve had several two lug actions that shot well with 1 lug having minimal contact.

Has there been an issues? Or was it just an observation?

There is value in getting the action squared during a rebarrel but if the gun shoots now I wouldn’t spend the money to take the barrel off, square/true lugs, and then mess with chambering/headspace after.

I was at the shop for diferent problems, and he pulled the bolt and dyed the lugs, and said that only two were touching. Smile and say "I did not know that." I went home. Thanks for input guys.
