Try a seating test maybe will tighten it up.

Rifles weight is 9.5 lbs. it’s a stiller action, hart #5 , jewel trigger ,McMillan HTG stock and scoped with a zeiss V4 6-24x50 illuminated.
This picture is when it had a SHV scope.

Nice! I’ve wanted to start tinkering with my dads weatherbys. How much jump are you working with on that load? I hear the weatherbys have quite the leap

IIRC, .375" freebore SAAMI.
Unless he has a custom reamer he'll never reach the lands with 140 Bergers.

So with my load I’m jumping them 0.090”.
This is my load at 200 yard.

Yep Ol Roy Weatherby created the first +p bore with super long throat and you didn’t have to worry about the lands eroding in the first 1/2 inch because…… there weren’t any!
You got that right. 👍

Beautiful rifle and groups. i just started working up loads for my 270 Wby again after years of non-use for my son to start shooting. Not sure why I ever put it away. Great rifle and consistent 1-1.5" groups. Started working with the Hammer bullets (116-117 gr) and getting great accuracy for this rifle and velocities of 3500 with light loads and no pressure signs in 24" barrel.

Roys first cartridge and still great - doesn't get enough press. Will shoot as flat as the 257 Wby and less recoil than the 7 mm mags. One of the best all around cartridges for all of North America short of the large Bears.

Great choice and best wishes.

I totally agree with you about the 270 wby a great cartridge and it’s a killing machine.
For the hunting season just passed I decided to try the 110 ttsx in this rifle and it was Phenomenal. I used RL 23 and it shoots 1” at 200 yards at 3740 fps. I zeroed it for 300 yards. It’s pretty much a hold on hair to 500 yard gun.
I was going to try the hammers 117 but they are pretty pricey here in Canada.
It was $70 just to ship them.
I had another 270 wby which I did on a Fierce Rival with a 27” 1-8 twist # 4 spiral fluted benchmark that was a tack driver with 150 accubonds but I just had it rechambered it to 27 nosler and that ruined it. It wouldn’t shoot anything better than about MOA.
So it’s now being rebarreled to 30 nosler with a proof barrel.
I just acquired a 30 nosler this winter and I absolutely love it so figured why not have 2 of them haha

Nice! My most trusted rifle is my Mark V 270 Wby with a Lilja barrel and AG Composite stock. 140 Accubonds at 3425 fps. Deer, elk, antelope, and mountain goat have all been taken with that rifle.

I love 140 accubonds.
I haven’t seen those in Canada for quite a few years now.
