For a range foremat the Broadwater Rod and Gun Club located in Townsend will fill your needs. Just stop in on main street at the Bent Willow fly shop and Gerry Rellar the owner will set you up with a registration and a key and a copy of rules and SOP's. I have not been there is a few years, but they have targets and berms out to 1K. Annual Membership is not expensive. The range is located a few miles up Indian Creek road. Indian Creek is just North of the river, North of Townsend on hiway 287.Anybody know where to find a 1000 yard range not too far from Helena?
Sorry, I don't. That is a new rule since I left the club and resigned from the board. I would think a call would be in order, there are retired RSO's in Townsend that might just meet you there. Thanks for the info Jeff. I read around on their website and read through the rules and such. It looks like a good place! Would you happen to know when the range officers are scheduled to be around? I would like to setup a paper target (or 4x8 sheet of plywood) at the 1000 yard mark for the first few shots out of my new gun, but walking out there is not allowed without an officer present.
