Long Range Scope Low Light Clarity Comparison

Here is where we can ask the editor questions and discuss this review. After a few trips to the field to compare these optics, LRO T&E Editor Ryan Furman offers what he sees in clarity and visual distinction between several of the Alpha Tier Long Range Hunting Scopes in Low Light Conditions at last legal light.

Lots of great scopes in that test. Ryan is there any chance you could throw together a summary table?

Thanks for giving us your impressions on what you were seeing with those various scopes. I also appreciate your observations on Eye Box and Parallax/Focus control.

Can you give us the quick order here on the thread from best to worst based on light performance?

Ryan, that was very informative and a great selection of "Alpha" scopes. Looking for to seeing your table.

In the first test from worst to best: NXS, March, Zeiss, Kahles, AMG, X5. In this test the NXS and March were very close as were the Zeiss and Kahles.

In the second test from worst to best: Huskemaw, NXS, March, Zeiss, ATACR, AMG, Kahles, X5. In this test the Huskemaw and NXS were nearly identical as were the ATACR and AMG.

Again, the focus was not and should not be on the exact minute. Other than the anomaly the scopes were separated by enough time to say with confidence which ones had better performance.

I COULD NOT FOCUS ON WHAT HE WAS SAYING ABOUT THE OPTICS. I muted the video and listened to the calls and pissed my pants I laughed so hard! you guys are INSANE! thank you! it gave me immeasurable pleasure to hear you guys BLAST ALL THOSE GUYS THAT MAJORED IN ACCENT AT SCHOOL! HOW DID WE ALLOW THOSE IDIOTS TO GET A MONOPOLY ON TECH SUPPORT? 3 CHEERS to you. sadly I came here to get help with my rifle project and ended up spending 5 hours reading and listening? keep it up! oldirt
